Sesame Street has been entertaining and educating for decades. Founded in 1969, characters including Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Ernie, Bert and many others are loved by millions of children and adults. Including me!
Fisher-Price Sesame Street Little People (left to right): Big Bird, Grover, Snuffleupagus, The Count, Cookie Monster, Ernie and Bert.I was lucky enough to have some Sesame Street friends in my toy box. Most likely, the peg design figurines pictured were part of a larger play set. Fisher Price partnered with the Children’s Television Workshop (now know as the Sesame Workshop) to produce Sesame Street play sets from 1975 to 1979. This was Fisher Price’s first licensed line.
Photo credit Aparlor.comFisher-Price standardized the size of Little People made from 1965 to 1990. I love that this made it possible for my Sesame Street friends to interact with other play sets like the farm, school house and airport. I recall sending Ernie on a daredevil ride from the top of the three level garage. As you can see, he survived the ride.
